How we work

Revealing the essence of a project is at the heart of our practice, as we strive to ground each project in the unique potential of its place and focusing on how it harmonizes with its context. To us, every project and place is a living system that requires attentive listening and thoughtful response.

At Studio Saar, our ambition is not just to create sustainable solutions but to cultivate truly regenerative environments where all beings can thrive. We are driven by the value that emerges from the cross-cultural exchange of ideas, methodologies, and technologies. As we operate across multiple contexts, collaboration, research, and the sharing of insights are of paramount importance.

We believe that architecture comes to life through the people who inhabit it. Each of our interventions is designed to evolve, embracing how communities make them their own. Our intent is to create ripples of hope that inspire meaningful change within communities.

The trifecta - brief, site and precedents
Every project is constrained and evolved using inputs from the client’s brief, a global and local study of precedents and the specific context of the project.

Understand brief and ideate
Our practice is highly iterative in nature, constantly moving from hand sketches, to physical models, and technical drawings/ virtual models. This process allows us to investigate the proposal from multiple angles.

Constraints + Opportunities
At the initial brief development stage of a project we work hard to analyse a site. Mapping is a critical tool to understand constraints and opportunities. We don’t talk about problems as obstacles as they always provide valuable insight and can be used to direct a project forward.
